Visit Our Farm & Garden Campus

Members of the community are welcome to visit and experience our farmstead campus. Whether you are interested in our programs, or you just want to see what we are up to, please reach out to schedule a visit!

If you are interested in our adult or children’s programs, we can be sure you are able to meet an administrative representative and some of our teachers. We’ll show you our program in action and where your kids or you, will be learning and growing. You will have a chance to ask all your questions and learn more about our offerings.

Tour Times

We are open to tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11am and 1pm, except on holidays.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Where are you located?

We are located on a local family farm, Henley’s Orchard, in Crozet, Virginia. You can find us on Google Maps and Apple Maps as “The Compass Center Foundation”

    Is there any parking nearby?

We have plenty of parallel parking for visitors along our driveway. Please park along the fence line as you enter the driveway. Walk down to the blue Farmhouse. Please do not park in the driveway circle, or otherwise block traffic flow.

    Can I bring my children?

Yes, please feel welcome to bring your children and other family members!

Will the tour be cancelled due to weather?

If the weather is heavy rain, lightening or thunder, or there is ice on the driveway, we will reschedule your tour. Snow, and extreme cold or hot temperatures generally do not cause us to reschedule a tour.

    Farm & Garden Visitors

We love to share our farm and garden learning projects with the community. Anyone is welcome to come tour the space and see what we are creating here! Please be sure to bring friends or family if you think they may be interested too.

    Compass Academy Visitors

If you are interested in learning more about our homeschool co-op, please come meet us and see our learning spaces! You may consider bringing your interested kids with you on the tour so that they can interact with the animals and teachers while here. You are welcome to take a private tour, but please also check our event calendar for any upcoming open houses.

    Prepare for Your Tour

We are on a working farm complete with animal muck, tall weeds, metal fencing, pot holes and rain puddles, and don’t forget the compost! You’ll want to wear appropriate shoes and clothing depending on the weather, and watch your step!

If it’s fall, winter or spring, there’s a good chance it’s muddy around here, and you’ll want sturdy protective shoes. If it’s drizzling, definitely bring a rain jacket and hat. If it’s raining steadily or heavily, or lightening or thundering, we will postpone the tour.

When you arrive, park along the fence next to the driveway, and please make sure to pull as far off the gravel drive when you park as possible. Walk down to the blue farmhouse and you’ll see us in the yard or inside!
