Immersed in farm and garden life, children will be given the space for self discovery and learning within a consistent weekly rhythm. We use a Waldorf-inspired curriculum, and follow a Reggio Emilia approach of following the children’s interests. This is an outdoor program with farmhouse learning spaces for harsh weather days. Organic lunch and snacks are provided. You may choose a custom weekly schedule as available.
Our mission at The Compass Center Foundation is to create and execute a childhood education experience that prioritizes of the emotional, physical and mental well-being of children and allows each child to learn through the lens of their own unique passions.
How we eat plays a huge role in our moods, energy levels and overall health. Integrative nutrition and self care are important aspects of our curriculum, so it comes naturally that we want to provide nourishing meals during the program as part of the overall learning experience.
We provide lunch and snacks for the children. Lunch will usually consist of a warm soup in winter, or sandwiches in summertime, olives and hard boiled eggs, crackers, biscuits or muffins, and fresh fruit and vegetables. Snacks are generally fresh fruit and vegetables, a protein and something baked (or other carbohydrate like pretzels).
When we purchase snacks instead of making them homemade, we buy organic, paleo and/or gluten free brands. We value whole foods without refined sugars, flours and oils. If you have other special food requirements or allergies please let us know and we will aim to accommodate you. This means you don’t need to pack a lunch box!
The following amounts are for the Fall 2024 session, from September 3rd through December 20th.
A deposit of 25% of the full fall session is due to reserve a set schedule, and remaining payment is due on a monthly schedule. There is a one time $100 food and supply fee for every child attending at least 3 days/week. There is a one time $60 food and supply fee for every child attending less than 3 days per week.
We want your child to enjoy their time with us, and being warm and dry while we explore outdoors is essential to a positive experience! It is important to get into the habit of checking the weather as you help your child dress for the day. Please arrive for outdoor weather, we will help them adjust layers as the day progresses.
In addition to their backpack with water bottle, please make sure they wear the following clothing and gear each day that they join us:
The Sprouts Program is located outdoors in a wildlife garden and farm yard. Children need to dress appropriately! We will utilize a heated discovery space for warming up or staying dry on harsh weather days. You may choose a custom weekly schedule as available.
