Join us for a candy-free, outdoor movie night where we will watch Coco. The kids will enjoy excitement and spookiness with their classmates under the stars. Cuddle up with blankets and pillows on the deck as we munch on healthy dinner-style snacks and watch this enchanting story unfold!

Coco is an animated Pixar movie set in Mexico that tells the story of a young boy named Miguel who embarks on a journey to the Land of the Dead to uncover his family’s musical heritage, inspired by the Mexican holiday Día de Muertos.

Bring a photo of a deceased loved one to add to our Dia de los Muertos ofrenda. Learn more about the ofrenda tradition and help us light the candles and say a blessing.

From Wikipedia: Día de Muertos is a tradition some believe originated with the Aztecs… The Aztec culture considered souls to continuously live and enter different realms when a body would die. This view was commingled with the Christian beliefs that the soul is eternal (whether it be in heaven, purgatory, or hell) during the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire when the two cultures were merged. The ofrenda is presented in one’s home in order to commemorate the souls of loved ones in the family.

Before RSVP’ing, please consider your child’s readiness to watch this movie by researching the rating and reviews. We are not recommending that this movie is appropriate for all ages of children within our programs.
