Math Teacher – Part Time

This person will provide guidance and instruction in math skills for children ages 5-11, grouped by age for lessons. This guidance would happen on a part-time basis throughout the week, over the course of 2 morning or afternoon sessions.

We believe a good amount of math skills can be learned from learning life skills, playing board games, engaging in outdoor games and play, and nature observation. We hope to teach math primarily through farmstead projects, including baking, cooking, building, gardening and animal care, with some unstructured fun game and puzzle time. You will be working with support from the director and other teachers to design lessons to work within our nature-oriented campus and farmstead theme. You will have a teacher assistant to help with complex lessons that may include baking or gardening.

We believe each child will progress in their own time, so time spent with the different age groups can be a combination of group activity and one-on-one time.

You will be working with support from the director and other teachers to design lessons to work within our nature-oriented campus and farmstead theme.
