Young Farmers with Robin Shirley

This exciting and engaging class will teach kids about life on a farm and barn! Kids will learn and be responsible for basic daily care for goats, chickens, ducks and horses including watering, feeding, collecting eggs, cleaning habitats and providing shelter.

Together we will raise and care for chickens, from incubation stage through to mature hens. We will work on basic maintenance needs around the farm and barnyard including fence repairs, duck house repairs, seasonal updates to the chicken coop, and more.

There will be field trips to see the cow barn and pig habitat. Kids will get to observe our honey bee hive and learn the life cycle of honey bees. We’ll take trips into the orchard as the apples ripen, and we may get to observe the cider press in action as we prepare for the annual fall Henley Fest!

There will be plenty of surprises, as life on the farm is full of them!
