Constellations and Mythology
It turns out that Henley’s Orchard is one of the best spots to stargaze in Crozet! Far from the bright lights, you can see an almost 360 degree view of the night sky.
This class is meant for families to enjoy together, especially given the time of day, so parents should stay when possible.
During each class we will focus on the mythology around a different constellation and attempt to locate that constellation. We will observe the beautiful night sky using both the naked eye and our telescope, and let our curiosity take us from there.
Kids will have access to resource books and storybooks on the night sky and space. Some may become interested in astrology, astronomy, celestial events, or other night-sky related subjects.
